Boats in Black & White

Morning sun glinted off these overturned boats in Brittingham park on Monona Bay in Madison, Wisconsin. (plastic kayaks). I captured the image in black and white. It's not a picture of boats, though. Rather, it is an abstract composition built on the irregular repetition of the bright outlines of the curved keels. Texture in the scathed hulls, in addition to granularity, adds depth and interest. Camera: Fujifilm X-20 or X-E3.
