I often refer to my work before 2020-ish to as Vintage Olson or Vintage MCO, and this winter landscape from 2010 would qualify as such.
There is a little river running through Cambridge, Wisconsin and it is called the Camrock, and thus Camrock Barn is my alternate title for this stylized scene. The foreground is indeed its snow-covered bank.
I like the look of woodcut or linocut ink prints, and I was going for that look with this scene. There are just three colors, the cool blue, the red barn, and the light cement color of the silo.
