Art Card - Fraboni's Customer Parking

It's hard to beat an old sign. Brick, peeling paint, weathered text, rust and decay.

"Fraboni's - Park in Rear Lot" is weathered signage that was once on the side of an empty building in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. The sign has since been removed from the building. When I see things that capture my attention now, I usually make an effort to photograph them without delay. More than once, I've gone back to places and found them completely changed, or, like this sign, vanished. The contrast between the green and red has good punch. 

I made this print in 2021, and I recall that I was just figuring out ways to make the image edges not straight and crisp, so that the image looked more like the sign and not like a picture of the sign. The local Italian delicatessen, still has one location in the area.
